I went to Chula Vista Adult School last year and got my certification within months. I had some personal issues so it took longer for me but overall a great school and great staff. Very happy I took the nursing route as I have a stable job now.

It would be really great to see more 18 year olds graduating high school consider the profession of becoming CNA, as it’s a job badly needed and doesn’t cost a fortune, and offers a quick way to get into health field doing something very important. I wish more high schools would direct teens with NO goals or plans to go to college to consider a career as a cna. Currently, there are 100’s of home health positions that need good male cna’s especially.

Are you required to take the course to take the boards? Or can you take the board using your previous experience? I have worked in Arizona for 5 years as a Patient Care Tech. Which is similar to a CNA but with more qualification. Unfortunately this is only a hospital certified position and does not mean anything in California. What are my options.
