CNA Classes in Louisville, KY

Becoming a CNA in Louisville is a step forwards towards a rewarding career in the medical field. CNA’s, or Certified Nurse Assistants, have been trained in patient care and observation. A licensed CNA can expect to find employment in assisted care facilities, hospitals, physical therapy centers, or even school districts. Although the medical field can require long hours and hard work, good qualified healthcare workers are always in demand. Many LPN’s and RN’s begin their career as a CNA.

The requirements for CNA’s sometimes vary a bit from state to state. In Louisville, KY, CNA’s are known as State Registered Nurse Aides, or SRNA’s. They must be registered with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry before beginning work as a SRNA. The applicant must have completed a course in patient care, approved by the Kentucky Board of Nurses. Many courses require the applicant to have a high school diploma, or GED equivalent. A TB skin test will be required, and many courses ask that a physician release a statement of good physical health before beginning CNA training.

Training programs approved by the Kentucky Board of Nurses are available in Louisville regularly. Vocational schools, community colleges, and other health care facilities often offer approved courses. Here is a list of some CNA Classes and schools in Louisville, KY.
